Assam witnessed unprecedented growth in small savings collection. The gross small savings collection from Post Office Small Savings schemes recorded Rs. 6080.96 crore in the Financial Year 2015-16, against the target of Rs. 4250 crore which was set for the state by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It is a gross progressive achievement of 143.08 percent.
At the same time, the net small savings collection was Rs. 1270.52 crore against the target of Rs.780 crore during the same period. The net progressive achievement is 162.88 percent.
